Might be worth an update to this post given the latest proposed change to keep the non profit ownership but create a PBC with some pretty confusing terms. It seems like they tried to come up with a lawful way to do the same thing.
It's spelled "its" when it's possessive, "it's" always means "it is". Weird quirk of English. "It" is the only word where the possessive form ending in 's doesn't have an apostrophe.
Seems like a key reason he'd reject Musk's offer is that he (as leader of nonprofit OpenAI) doesn't think it's in humanity's best interests to sell it to Musk. But he does think that selling it to the current OpenAI leadership is good, because of course he does! That seems pretty reasonable and internally consistent to me.

I think he could to say that if so. Also I care whether the non profit is meeting its obligations, not what Mr Altman believes.
